Building immigrant worker power since 1999.

Despite their essential role as front-line workers, immigrants suffer from some of the highest rates of workplace violations, injury, and death. NICE provides critical services and resources to prevent worker exploitation and ensure workers' safety and rights are respected. Most importantly, we empower workers to organize around key issues that impact our community to change the systemic injustices we face.

NICE Workers Center

Our Workers Center connects immigrants to dignified jobs and employers to skilled workers via collective employer outreach. We're also a community space where workers gather to build community and organize.

Collective Empowerment and Leadership Development

We engage our membership via monthly meetings to develop their leadership skills and strategize collectively around our organizing priorities. We coordinate direct actions, brainstorm and develop campaign ideas, and engage in political education around relevant issues that impact our members' lives.

Workplace Safety Certifications (OSHA, SST)

We offer FREE, culturally competent health & safety certifications to ensure our members learn life-saving safety skills and to open pathways to dignified jobs with certification requirements.

Skills Trainings

We offer FREE skills training workshops in Electricity, Framing, Demolition, and other key soft skills (English, Technology) to improve our members' employability and support women in entering a male-dominated industry.

Worker Rights Education and Support

We support our members in fighting cases of workers exploitation such as wage theft, discrimination, workers' compensation, sexual harassment, etc, by organizing individual and group cases against corrupt employers in coalition with labor unions, legal partners, and the Department of Labor. We present a "Know your Labor Rights" curriculum in every health & safety course we teach.

Pandemic Recovery & support services

NICE offers critical recovery & support services such as access to Covid-19 tests & vaccines, weekly hot meal distribution, emergency financial assistance, and referrals to free and low cost medical services.
