Job Post: Relief and Recovery Associate

SUMMARY

The Relief and Recovery Associate at NICE is responsible for providing all-around support and engaging in a wide-range of disaster relief and recovery activities with the immigrant communities we serve. The qualified candidate is able and willing to work on-site as an essential employee and work occasional evenings and weekends, ensuring that activities are conducted professionally, in a culturally-sensitive manner, and consistent with the mission and standards of the organization. We are seeking a highly motivated, high-performing, and organized colleague who is able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Principle duties and activities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide a positive relief and recovery experience to community members we serve, through our financial assistance and food pantry delivery activities, and other services that may arise over time
  • Optimize the overall efficiency of relief and recovery operations 
  • Collaborate with NICE staff to assess engagement opportunities, volunteering needs, and resolving issues that may arise
  • Supervise volunteers and ensure any assigned tasks and activities run efficiently.
  • Respond to inquiries, requests for assistance and direction, and any other requests from personnel within a reasonable and timely period
  • Coordinate referrals, service planning, and client documentation for assigned caseload
  • Provide members with connection to internal and external programs and services, information and referral as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, files, forms, statistics, and additional relevant information in accordance with agency policy, licensing, and funding requirements.
  • Document all service transactions in accordance with agency procedure and policy
  • Prepare, compiles, and submits accurate and timely records, files, forms, statistics, and additional relevant information in accord with agency policy, licensing, and funding requirements.
  • Respond to inquiries, requests for assistance and direction, and any other requests from personnel within a reasonable and timely period
  • Ensure milestones are met, and deadlines are kept 
  • Work on special projects and assist with organizational and programmatic activities as needed

Specific goals will be set quarterly, corresponding to each area. Other responsibilities to be determined based on the needs of the organization and the skills and experience of the chosen applicant.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Supports and facilitates positive interaction with others by exhibiting: individual maturity, respect for others, team-centered approach, and maintenance of confidential information  
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, work independently, meet deadlines, and the ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work effectively with all of the organization's stakeholders (staff, members, vendors, etc)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a diverse, multi-office, team environment
  • Dedication and ability to work flexible hours, on evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English

  • Categorized as an essential worker (requires physical presence at job sites)
  • Temporary, through July 31, 2020, with the possibility of extension.
