JOB OPENING: TRAINER - KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Know Your Rights/Leadership trainer will be responsible for the planning and execution of NICE’s Know Your Rights and Leadership development curriculum in alignment with the organization’s strategies and campaigns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute and coordinate Know-Your-Rights and Leadership Development workshops and trainings 
  • Develop training models that are based on original and/or existing models
  • Work collaboratively with staff and member leaders in the development and execution of trainings 
  • Assess training needs and develop strategic implementation and development plans accordingly 
  • Work collaboratively with staff to execute effective strategies for developing strong leaders 
  • Engage and collaborate with member base in existing committees and working groups 
  • Support Organizers in the development of current member-led advocacy and organizing campaigns
  • Coordinate with strategic partners to collaborate on trainings
  • In collaboration with program staff, coordinate outreach, and registration for trainings
  • In collaboration with administrative staff, coordinate logistics and ensure all space, materials and other goods needed for trainings are provided and set-up/taken-down in a timely manner
  • Maintain excellent attendance and training records
  • Support organizational activities, when required
  • Maintain excellent attendance and training records
  • Answer phone calls during office hours and check voicemail when in office
  • Record keeping of any external referrals
  • Provide interpretation/translation, when require

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Flexible schedule - trainings are generally scheduled in the early mornings, evenings, and sometimes weekends
  • Ability to work and collaborate with a predominantly Spanish-speaking community
  • Strong written and oral skills in Spanish and English
  • Knowledge of computer operations (including but not limited to, Google Apps, Microsoft Office, etc.), as well as copiers, fax machines, and phones
  • Administrative and organizational skills necessary to carry out job description responsibilities
